Nineteen years old...oh my goodness. It seems like just yesterday, I met little Austen at 8 years old. All these years later, & I am proud to know him & love him. Happy Birthday Aus!!

There is a special place in Heaven for Stepmoms. We have been given a unique opportunity to provide love, respect, and compassion for a child who could go either way on the road of life, because of divorce or the loss of a parent. We have a huge responsibility. Sometimes for me, the love and compassion does not come naturally. However, God is so good that I believe He has placed us in these circumstances and fills us with what we need to walk this road, sometimes even skip joyfully down the road!
And, when it is all said and done, and we are celebrating the 19th birthday of a child we've helped raise and grow into something beautiful, we know Father did good through us. He did exactly what He wanted, THROUGH US. We were chosen for this job.
And "a voice from Heaven tells us, This is my child, whom I love, and I am well pleased!" (Matt 3:17). He is well-pleased with you Heather! You are a good woman!
