The Not-So-Fun Teddy Bear Picnic

Some things sound like a great idea, but when you give it a try, they turn out to be not-so-fun! One of the malls in our area was having a Teddy Bear Picinc today, & Reese and I decided to go. So we load up the teddy bear, and off we go! This mall was about 30 minutes away, and as soon as we arrived, Reese decided he didn't want to participate in the activities or hear stories...he would rather....ride the carousel...

Play on the stairs...

Ride the escalator....

So we gave up on the idea of a teddy bear picnic & headed to the Dallas Children's Museum...luckily it was inside the same mall so our trip out wasn't a total waste of time! Among other fun things to do, Reese loved the osciliscope (just like on the Wiggles!)...
Loved the marble wall...where you put the wooden boards in the slots to make different ramps for the marbles to tumble down...perhaps an architect in the making? We spent the most time at this area...with Reese letting the marbles roll down over & over & over...
The science center was also of great interest. Here he's checking out a bug slide in the microscope..."Mommy, what is DAT?"
The theater center was fun...I think he looks like a creepy monkey from the Wizard of Oz, but hey...he's cute anyway!
They even had a cow milking station!
Looking for birds in the museum with the binoculars...
The sand table with his other favorite activity. Pouring the sand into the funnel & watching all the wheels turn was so interesting to Reese. Little did he know he was exploring machines, gravity, volume, fine motor skills, & so many other great educational topics!
And that my friends was our Not-So-Fun Teddy Bear Picnic...basically, everything BUT a picnic! What a fun, impromptu day!
